the city

In working with multimedia, I continually recontextualize physical objects, different formal qualities and their cultural connotations. In the City, I usurped live web cameras from cities around the world, along with current population and weather data. The data derived from an individual city is then turned in on itself to affect the color, size and behavior of the dissected pieces of the web camera images. The new entities are left to themselves to reorganize into a new collective via "self-assembly." The final result of the City, is a new community based on the interrelationship of three user chosen cities that could not have happened in reality.
