It was in a huge tent which was only accessible for the paying people. George Christiaan Slieker (1861-1945) was the first hollander that was interested in cinematography. He gave lots of shows in all of the Netherlands. The charge of the first show was 50ct. first rank and 25ct. second rank. The first cinema opened in Amsterdam. It was opened in the year 1906. It was Andrew Rawson Jennings who opened it.
The influence of American series/films In one particular day there are 4 American movies and over 16 American series only on the Dutch channels. Many of the series are published all around the world like: The Bold and the Beautiful, Friends and Startrek. Some people do not like the big influence but they do watch them, sometimes even without noticing it. For example: lots of old ladies don’t like the influence of the Americans but still watch the Bold and the Beautiful without noticing it. But it isn’t always negative changes. Lots of stuff from the US is good for the education of the children. It is about some funny animals or children who can teach our children about the colours, letters and the culture of the US
The influence of horror films
In our country the real scary movies may only be shown after 10 o’clock. I think the people who invented this law are right. The children who get to bed cannot see this movie so they sleep better and not dream about scary stuff. And if they get older and get to bed later they can watch the movie without dreaming about it.  I usually don’t watch horror movies because I prefer action like Deep Impact because of the special effects. In horror movies they usually don’t use the computer to make those effect and in action they do.
